Advice, create create create

It’s been a while hasn’t it? I’d like to say that I’ve spent my time away from the blogger-sphere creating, unfortunately it’s been much more mundane than that…surviving if you will. (I’d say living but that implies a certain zest that these droll winter months haven’t much afforded me.)

But this morning, a deary day with nipping hints of Persephone’s legacy swirling around my face, I stumbled upon this and decided today would be a beautiful day to rededicate myself to writing  and to the world at large.

In short, I’m back. And if you have had a creative drought or are feeling your work isn’t up to par, please take a minute a listen to the video below.

A minute can reset your life after all.

Happy birthday to the best neighbor ever

Fred Rogers better known to the world as Mr. Rogers would have been 85 today. Like many children of the ’80s, I was obsessed with this show, and as I grew older, I realized how amazing of a person he was. There aren’t a lot of people I consider to be my hero, but one day, I want to grow up and be just like him.  He truly cared about people, wanted to make a difference and did. If that isn’t a hero, I don’t know what is.

And in honor of his birthday, I have a few links for you.

For Illinois Shakespeare lovers

Bloomington Il has an amazing Shakespeare festival at Ewing Manor. ( I might be biased, I went to undergraduate and graduate school at Illinois State University, of which Ewing Manor is a part of.) But it is a premier performance, which I suggest, if you are in central Illinois for the summer, you check out. The actors are amazing. The production space is beautiful and the grounds of the manor are pristine. It’s perfect for an early afternoon picnic followed by an amazing play.

But for those who can’t wait this long, five are high schools have come together to throw a production of A Midsummer’s Night Dream.

This is a great chance to support young actors and their drama program!
